Humbleness!

Good morning, Papa God!

This morning, as I read Your Word, one verse has sat upon my heart (1 Peter 5:6) with these questions. Am I humble before You? What exactly does being humble look like? Papa God, in a nutshell, I believe it is the practice of meekness before You, the practice of obedience to Your will, and the practice of depending on Your grace and mercy. It is recognizing that I am not in control of life as much as I think I am or want to be. When I exert my control and push against Your will for me, I am anything but humble. And, generally, my life ends up being a “hot mess” when I am like this. Recognizing that I don’t have all the answers or even most answers, and that You’ve got this and are in control of all the pieces of my life is both humbling and surprisingly peaceful.

Good morning, My child!

Recognizing your need for Me and your dependence on Me is practicing humility. Laying down your will and your way (control) to be obedient to Me is practicing humility. Putting others above yourself is practicing humility. My child, notice the verb I chose to use – practicing! The more you do the “laying down of your will” and the “putting others above yourself” and the “recognizing your need for Me’, the better you become at being humble. Keep on practicing! You are resembling Me more than you know with each passing day.
