Who I Am in a Nutshell:
Like many women today, I have a full life. I have been a wife, a momma to four and a mimi to seven, and a dedicated career woman, all while being active in my church and pursuing my personal interests.
I have my MBA from Jacksonville University and my Masters in Christian Ministry from North Greenville University. Throughout my career as a senior professional in Human Resources, I have written education materials, conducted many education sessions, and taught in my field of discipline to all levels of management and employees for 26 years. I have received several awards as ‘Outstanding Contributor’ within my field of expertise.
I have published a book, High Tides, Low Tides, and Riptides, which conveys the emotions, thoughts, and prayers throughout the struggles and victories in a person’s life journey. For me, teaching and writing have always had just one purpose – to give others an example of someone who has experienced and overcome life’s challenges, and to see the eyes and hearts of others come alive with the hope and encouragement found in Jesus Christ.
My Testimony
Despite the religious training in which I grew up, my challenges came in a variety of struggles as I sought to find purpose and meaning in life. I was raised to know and believe in God, but always with rules, rituals, and religious knowledge. I was left feeling unfulfilled and deeply dissatisfied within my being. My search for love and the feeling of being loved would lead me into many harmful relationships and situations. You may be wondering what my struggles were and whether I can relate to where you are and what you are going through in your life. I share these only to let you know some of the challenges that I faced in my life – promiscuity, pregnancy outside of marriage, living alone in a rundown farmhouse full of mice, raising four children under five (then all teenagers at same time, enough said!), military wife and deployments (being a single parent), an unfaithful husband, rejection, abandonment, loneliness, divorce, a life of despair and defeat which led to thoughts of suicide. How did I overcome these challenges of life?
Thankfully, finding a real relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ, turned my life around and has given me the strength to endure and overcome all of life’s disappointments and challenges. This is what I love to share through my writings -- the encouragement, strength, and love that is found in Jesus Christ. Because of Him, I know the love that fulfills every yearning heart, and I’d love nothing more than for others to know it too.
WHAT I BELIEVE:
I believe that the Triune God exists eternally in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and that these three are one God, coequal in power, glory, authority, and dominion.
I believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, willingly offered once and for all the one supreme sacrifice for the sins of the world—a perfect sacrifice through which he has made us perfectly holy and complete. Salvation is found in his name alone.
I believe Jesus was raised from the dead, exalted in heaven, and lives forevermore.
I believe that Jesus is coming again and will judge the world and sin.
I believe the Bible is the only inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.
Therefore, repent from sin and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
