The Power of Words!

Good morning, Papa God!

I am sitting here this morning – very still! I am letting Your Word sink deep into my own heart first. I am listening to Your words carefully for myself. Your Word is powerful! You speak and it is! By Your words, creation was spoken into existence. So, I sit here quietly … listening for Your still, small voice which speaks to my heart with power. I am reminded again of the power that is in the spoken word. There is life and death in the words that are spoken. They can do good or do harm. Words, once uttered, can never be retrieved; can never be unspoken. Most of the time, trouble comes when the mouth spews words without thinking and is not kept shut. The reckless words pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. You speak, Papa God, into Your creation and all creation stops and listens, except Your highest creation – man! We hear You speak, but don’t listen! We hear You speak, but do not apply it to our lives! Many say they do not hear You speak to them, but this is not true. Oh, yes, Papa God, we hear You speak through the preaching of Your Word, through Your glorious creation, through the wisdom of other believers, through the teaching of Your Word, and most importantly, through Your still, small voice – when we are quiet and still enough to hear it. When we are free from other worldly distractions – noise, TV, phone, work, and life demands. We can hear You when we lay down our will, our wants, our life to You. Until we do this, we just want the answer we want, and we don’t hear You say anything else. I can hear You so much better at those times in my life when I have ceased striving, and I was still and had surrendered my will to You. Then I heard what You were saying to my heart. It was crystal clear.

My child,

Yes, you hear Me when I speak (most of the time). You have learned to be still in My Presence. You know My voice because you have learned to make time with Me a priority. You know the voices of family and friends by heart because you spend much time with them. Knowing My voice comes the same way – by spending much time in My Presence. When you are still in My Presence, it is then you begin to know Me deeply. It is then that the power of My words penetrate deep into your heart and soul and being. It is then that you hear My voice, and are changed because you listen to Me.
