Good morning, Papa God!
As is my norm these days, I ponder my life’s next step…what it is You desire of me? … what to do? … where to go? … life’s many questions about Your purpose for me in retirement. As I read Scriptures this morning, my heart settled on these verses concerning “preaching the gospel” and what that looks like in my life. I have thought about the events which comprise the gospel of Jesus – His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. Where would I be without each of these acts of Jesus? All of them absolutely necessary to complete the work of Christ – the gospel message. What would have happened if He had gone back to Heaven from the Mount of Transfiguration? He could have chosen to leave earth then and go back to You. But if He had, He would have gone alone. Me, none of us, would have been able to follow Him there. His death on the Cross is the door through which all can enter into a life with You, Papa God. His resurrection guarantees that Your children will be resurrected to eternal life. His Ascension gives Your children access to You, holding the door of Heaven open for us. This is the gospel I am to preach; telling those that my life touches and influences about Your great love that was demonstrated through the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus. I know the gospel. I know what I am to do with it. But I come back to the same question … How? By what mechanism do I do this? Retirement has left me virtually out of the public arena and the lives of others. How do I re-enter that arena? Doing what? Every avenue, every attempt, every step I have taken doesn’t seem to be the right one. In what direction do I step and through what door do I go? I know that You direct the steps of Your children and that You lead us into Your paths of righteousness.
Good morning, My child!
I see you struggling with your role in preaching the gospel. Remember your life does preach, and sometimes I give you an opportunity to use words. You have not been wrong when you have stepped out in faith to do what was before you to do. Everything takes time in My kingdom’s work. It’s about planting seeds, watering, letting them sprout and grow, then the results of fruit come. You continue to “preach the gospel, in season and out”, just as you have been doing. Please remember to not judge by what you see. So much more is happening through your life that you do not see. You have found eternal life through My Son, through the gospel. Continue to trust Me and search for Me and My way for you as you live out each day. And to answer your next question – no, I will not let you miss the open door I want you to go through, and all I have prepared for you to do and receive from My hands. Remain faithful and steadfast, My child.
