What is Success?

Good morning, Papa God!

I am contemplating my life and what You see from it. Of course, I don’t know what You see because You use my life in ways I do not know or see. Will I hear You say to me one day, “Well done, good and faithful servant?” That is my goal as I serve You. This thought has led me to my next thought. What is a successful life in Your eyes? You have called me to be me and to use the gifts You have given to me in service to others. So, comparing my life to others’ lives is definitely not how You measure success. You did not call me to preach Your Word so that thousands are saved in one day like Peter or Spurgeon or Billy Graham, so why would You compare their results to my results. You wouldn’t! You gave me to do what You gave me to do. The truth is when I do what You give me to do, where You want me to do it, I am successful, and I will hear You say ‘well done, good and faithful servant. You were faithful over a few things; I will put you in charge over many things. Enter into the joy of Your Lord.” My life is really all about having faith and perseverance in all You ask of me. Of course, perseverance means more than just enduring until the end. It is just throwing myself upon You with abandon and total confidence in You, and deepening my knowledge of You. I have learned that challenges and problems of life are the platforms upon which You reveal Yourself to me at a higher and deeper level than I currently know You. I live my life by faith and perseverance, trusting only in You, not myself.

Good morning, My child!

You are absolutely correct! I do not compare you to My other children. You are who you are; and I have chosen you to do what only you can do with the gifts that I have given you. Success, in My eyes, is being where I want you to be, doing what I have asked you to do. Be faithful in your calling, and leave the eternal results of your life to Me. I am doing things in and through you far beyond what you see and know. Comparing yourself to others just leads you to despair, discouragement, discontent, and/or depression. Don’t go there! I did not create you to be like anyone else. Just be you! Faithfully follow Me; do what I ask and leave all else to Me.
