Wise Choices!

Good Morning, Papa God!

I sit before You this morning in deep contemplation of all I have heard from You and the study of Your Word. Yes, You know my path and the plan for my life. Yes, You order my steps toward You and Your plan; but each day I have choices of where I place my step. Every day I have the choice of whom I will serve and listen to … You or the father of lies. Every day I can choose life (listening to You) or death (life not listening to You). Every day I have choices like:

  • Go without knowing (obey or disobey);
  • Lay aside burdens and sins or hang onto them;
  • Uplift my spirit or wallow in self-pity;
  • Praise and thank You or hold back my praise and thanks until life circumstances improve;
  • Step forth into the day, doing something to make a difference or sit and stare at four walls;
  • Find something to bring a smile and laughter to my heart or mope and cry;
  • Do good or withhold acts of goodness;
  • Be kind or be hateful and angry;
  • Be a blessing to others or be a thorn in their side.

I hear You say to me every day, “Make wise choices. Choose this day whom you will serve. You cannot serve two masters. Build your foundation wisely.” Papa God, part of my choices is knowing when to let go of what is not part of Your plan for me. Maybe at one time, I thought it was Your plan for me, but now realize it is not. My “field that is white unto harvest” is not the field I thought it would be. You have defined it completely different, and I need to let my plan fall by the wayside. As You have said to me ... choices! Each day, Papa God, help me to choose wisely because my life and where I am is a summation of my choices. Let me choose wisely each day to do Your will for my life.

My child,

Laying down your will, your plans to My will and My plan is always the best choice. I know the plan you had and that choice you made to try and execute it was not bad; it just wasn’t what I wanted you to do in your retirement years. I have something else for you to do. So, yes, I have asked you to let go of your plan and choose Mine. Yes, you have had many choices to make over the years, and you have made them, some wise ones and some unwise ones. But, in and through it all, I have ordered your steps and brought you to where you are now – ready for the next assignment. Each day that I set before you will have choices, and I want you, as My Spirit leads you, to make wise choices and build a firm foundation upon My truth. So when the storms of life come (and they will), you will stand firm in the midst of them. I am your Solid Rock, so make listening to Me your choice as you walk through this day.
