Your Promises are True

Good morning, Papa God! 

I am settling in for our time together. My mind is quieting and becoming peaceful as I turn my focus upon You. I contemplate my many conversations with You over the last forty-seven years of walking with You. You asked me to journal back when I first knew You through my faith in Jesus Christ. I have been doing this faithfully ever since. In all these years, I have had many tears, many sorrows, many joys, and many lonely years. I have asked so many questions about all my tomorrows. I have come to learn through it all that I can trust You and Your Word always. All of it has only made me stronger in my faith that You are God. You are Who You say You are and You will do what You say You will do. You can solve all my problems and You do –in Your way and in Your time. I know that I have questioned You about my circumstances at times and wondered at Your purpose. I admit to my lack of understanding in most of the circumstances that have come into my life. You have reminded me many times that You have never promised me a life that was easy and without struggles or a life without steep hills to climb. But, my Papa God, I have reflected upon what You have promised me and I am forever grateful. Promises like:

• I will be with you always. I will never leave nor forsake you. (Matt.28:20; Heb.13:5)
• I am going to prepare a place for you that where I am there you will be also. (John 14:2-3)
• I will come again and receive you unto Myself. (John 14:3)
• I love you with an everlasting love. (Jer.31:3)
• I am able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all you can think or imagine or ask. (Eph.3:20)
• I know the plans I have for you, plans for good and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope. (Jer.29:11)
• When you confess your sins, I am faithful and just to forgive all your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
• I will provide for your every need. (Phil.4:19)
• I will rescue you and deliver you. (Psa.50:15)
• I am forever faithful and true. (Rev.19:11)
• I make you strong and courageous. (Joshua 1:9)
• I am your strong tower, your fortress, your refuge … a very present help in times of trouble. (Psa.18:1; (Psa.46:1)
• I am your eternal life and hope. (John 3:16)

Every day, You think of me. Every hour, You protect me and love me. Every second of every minute of every hour, You care for me. Not because of who I am in myself, but because You love me and I am Your child.  I am highly favored and forever blessed. I live without fear of the future and the unknowns in my life, Papa God, because my life is in Your hands. You have sovereign control over all that is, including me. I know that my Redeemer lives, and I will see You face-to-face someday. Oh what a glorious day that will be! Until then… I meet with You every day like we have been doing for these past 47 years, and for all the years that You give me.

My precious child,

Your willingness each day to live close to Me is a pure joy and delight to Me. Your desire to walk in daily communication with Me is a precious treasure being stored here in heaven. You and I have come through many steps together throughout your lifetime. Your journey, by My design, has been accomplished one step at a time. When the journey was easy those steps did not seem hard to take. But, these last 30+ years have been filled with many difficulties, challenges, and wilderness/desert walks. You have plodded along with tired and heavy steps. Many times you have been so weak from the journey, wanting to quit and give up. But you didn’t! You came to Me, looked up, and cried out, “Help me!” And I did! I carried you until you were restored, renewed, and strong again. You have chosen, most of the time, to stay on the path I have chosen for you. Yes, there have been times you have wandered off the path, but soon returned. You have learned obedience through suffering, and now recognize that staying on the path I have designed for you is your best choice. Clinging to My hand as you walk has been, is, and will be your best choice. Each day you when you choose to walk with Me, obey Me, and trust all My promises to you, your faith grows stronger even when you don’t understand and cannot see ahead. My heart is full of joy for you, My child. Even now, when you are struggling to understand My purpose, you trust Me; you keep your hand in Mine; you meet with Me each morning and we talk and listen; and you seek to obey Me in each day’s activities. This is how you journey through life, My child. I love you more than you can even comprehend. You give My heart such joy!
